BCER.org publishes official, public data about every US public school and school district in a form that is easy to read. Each page shows the figures that NCES collects, such as enrollment, teachers, grades, school meals and district finances, with short notes on what the numbers mean.
What we do not do
We do not publish ratings, grades, test scores or reviews, and we do not call any school or district "best". Our lists sort by facts such as size, staffing and spending. We never estimate or fill in missing values.
Independence
BCER.org is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Center for Education Statistics, the US Department of Education, the Urban Institute, the Census Bureau, any state education agency, GreatSchools, Niche or US News.
Who runs the site
The site is maintained by a small editorial team that builds the pages from the source files and reviews them for accuracy. See our methodology for how the data is processed.
The bcer.org name
The bcer.org domain was once home to the Business Coalition for Education Reform. The current site is a new, independent project and is not run by or affiliated with the former coalition. Read the history of bcer.org.
